A suggestion for the next run of X-sheaths: make the back strap about a half inch longer and move the female snap down the same amount. We can then use another PaLs webbing. Mount one on a pack and you will see what I mean.
Thanks Dean, I will check and get back to you, do you have other thoughts, if you do, pls tell me, let's see if we can make a new edition./:joyful

How about color options? Maybe adding a smaller sheath in the front for a multi tool or small elastic loops to hold a pen light or ferro rod?
Or maybe just a couple PALS webbing on the front to attach a tool pouch. If we wanted we could allow the bottom to be opened so that you could use the sheath to carry an axes.

here is an x sheath that I modified (cut out the bottom) to carry an axe.

. Very Nice! Small Forest Axe? I have the Scandinavian, with a 23” handle I find carrying it head down to be a bit more comfortable on my light packs. With this sheath does it allow for either carry option?

This version of the x sheath I modified by cutting out the bottom. It could work head down if you mounted the sheath upside down as well.

Hi Sandspoor, actually it does have sides elasticated, do you mean this one? View attachment 4964
That is probably sufficient, but I was thinking about elastic along the complete length: Guys here are talking about carrying hatchets etc - some have curved handles that might just not fit in a “hard” sleeve, while if the sides were elastic it might fit and still hold the axe secure.

The x sheath works for all the axes that I have.

As @Momo said, the axe pouch is in the queue waiting for production. We will not change the X-sheath into a axe pouch. We can consider about the original request you put forward, to extend the back strap with 1.5" for one more Pal. Do you mean this? If so, does this change affect it rolling up in the end?
