Hey gang, I had an idea based on the folding sleeping foam mats and thought i would see what everyone thought. So based on the design of the TIPI Nova tent, this is a folding floor mat. That covers roughly 90% of the floor space. Designed to lightly fold up for packing, this floor mat would keep anything and everyone nice and cozy with a more comfortable sleep. No more rolling off the mat in the middle of the night and helping regulate interior temperatures.

Only the center piece is connected by thin material for easy folding. It also has a designed and reinforced cup for the center pole. the side all fold up on each side then folded in the middle making it a neatly stacked and packable system. Add velcro straps to wrap and hold it in place, while also being able to be used for attaching to your back pack.

Just a really basic thin foam. With a crease every six inches for folding. Now you could make it two seperate pieces or attach the end with a slit up the middle so once folded up in the sides you fold it over.kind of like an accordion. Then it stacks up. However I came up with a second idea which is two seperate rolls that accomodate half the floor space. Then you can go fully covered or half covered and they only fold up on the angled side. So the angled side folds in making it square and then roll up.

Ummm still confused about how to fold it. So it's to be put inside the tent instead of the bottom? Should we use it with sleeping bag or some other gear as a sleeping system? What's the main problem it's designed to resolve?

Ok here are a couple of pictures of a standard foam mat.

This is a thicker foam mat. Folded up.

See it folds right up on itself.

Now picture two of these end to end.bbandnthe very bottom layer is connected. They then just food down making them look like they are stacked one on top of the other.

This creates a thermal break on the entire floor of the tent., They just put out their sleeping bag and don't have to worry about rolling off it in the middle of the night. The pads are cut to fit the floor plan of the tent they are designed floor.

The pictures shown are also much thicker. I have a foam pad that's only about 5mm thick. Not does not require folding it just rolls up easily.

The idea is to protect the floor of the tent, make it more comfortable and a thermal break for the entire floor space.
