Absolutely . Check your gear then double check it. Can never be too prepared. This is not to discourage use of a tourniquet at the ready, outside of kit, but suggesting that if you question the integrity of your TQ then cycle it out for a new one.

There sure is a lot of controversy around the TQ you mention. I have one, but people have said that it is t certified and that a CAT or Soft T would be better.
It is misleading because they market it to people because it has a TCCC rating, however only received this rating because it’s a medical device for a K9.

The TQ I posted is info on a CAT TQ. I specified on RATS being an animal TQ as I don’t believe it should be used on a human being .I personally use a CAT-T outside my kit and several SWAT-TQs inside my kit as they double as pressure dressings. My favorite TQ is https://vdevgru.com/products/1-5-ratcheting-medical-tourniquet-rmt?variant=5650466144283

Hope this clarifies.
Thanks for the info! I’ll have to see if the Swat T can be shipped to Canada. Also have been searching for a reasonable price on a Cat TQ. For some reason they are pricey here in Canada.
