Hello all,

My team and I are using balaclavas and a small mesh piece to protect our mouth and teeth on the airsoft field.

But it's annoying that it moves around the whole time because they are 2 separate parts. Imagine that it moves before a shoot out and you get shot on your mouth or teeth. That would be a trip to the dentist.

Now I was thinking why not a balaclava with a pocket around the mouth section where you can adjust the mesh piece on the inside.

Why a pocket?
Because you can remove the metal mesh piece when you want to wash your balaclava. When it's integrated inside the balaclava it could be an issue for your health or make some ugly spots on your balaclava because it will get rusty after a while.

This is a picture of my airsoftbuddy (Airsoft_artyom on Instagram) wearing it underneath his balaclava.

I have the same model but not using it. The problem with those models is that the eye section is not wide enough. The corners are coming afront the corner of your eyes and that is enjoying. This is the experience is a lot of people I play with and myself.

So if you have one that is one piece like I showed you were good to go to make the adjustment.

Another question I've met during searching on the internet is that I found there are some mesh guard like the following picture with two side for head straps:

This is from a post I saw in Imgur.com
And the only question I have is if not having straps but to put it in the "pocket", will the mesh inside the balaclava keep wobbling?

No, if the mesh mask has been set in the pocket you can form it around your mouth so it doesn't move around. And the balaclava will keep it in place because it's attached in the balaclava.

This one is perfect:

It's a Steel mouth from Evike.com.
As you can see no straps. Just slide it in your balaclava pocket and your good to go.

I see. I will DIY one first haha. Already bought a similar mesh and there're tools for DIY in the office. This is such an interesting project!

A velcro spot is an option. But a pocket on the inside would be even better.
It's looking better. From the outside, it's just a balaclava and on the inside you have the right protection.

yes it is a pocket with velcro as its closure to keep the mesh part inside.

Update! Today the one of our supplier is sending their sample for us, they have seen this design and changed a little bit to make it more mature as a product. I am going to receive it tomorrow the the day after it! Will post picture here!
