How about making Molle webing in this way so you can attach things vertically or horizontally.
That would work Andy. Maybe try it on the new Clawhammer bags if they aren’t finished yet. Would also have to keep in mind the location of this “cross” webbing. For me I don’t mount any pouches or anything heavy to the outside of a pocket. I’ve found that it puts extra stress on the pocket especially if it’s a zipper.

This can work, but pay careful attention as to how many strips you add and the spacing...this surely ad the possibility to attach a pouch vertically and horizontally, but it also limits the options to attach bags conventionally because you effectively half the horizontal (or vertical) strips you would normally have.
Good idea though 👍🏻

Would lasercut molle possibly be better?

I don’t know if you could ever make a product that will suit everyone’s needs. Everyone may be using the product for different activities so the orientation of the PALS webbing might suit one activity and not another. For me, my gear is for outdoor use like hiking or backpacking so for the most part I will not attach anything very heavy to PaLS webbing on the outside of a pocket. I feel that too much weight may put extra pressure on the zippers.

A lot of Kydex holsters, or tool holsters have the option for a “cant angle” for anything belt mounted, and if you are carrying on a rig you generally want them vertical for a reliable but speedy reload (no weird wrist movements or a less than positive grip on the magazine)

Yes, didn't test it but I know it can't fit the standard molle pocuh if the width from both horizontal and vertical don't go as the standard one. like now it's 1.5”×1”. If we make this concept in the same way it will be hard to attach pouch from the horizontal direction.

The design flaw that I think exists in this weave, is that anything mounted either vertically or horizontally will flap and bounce about. There is no stitching/tacks/securing points to the centre of the weave?
